February 9, 2024: I received my personal copies of Course Change. It was simply other-wordly to hold the book in my hands after working on it for over 12 years. It was also the 60th anniversary of The Beatles' first appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show, and I hit the 15 gallon mark with my blood donation at the Red Cross blood drive at Waterford Town Hall that day. Nice trifecta, I'd say!
March 6, 2024: Book Launch at Bank Square Books in Mystic, CT. A large crowd, including family and friends, assembled for my talk and book signing. The store sold-out of copies of Course Change that evening!
March 20, 2024: Author Talk & Book Signing for the New London Maritime Society at the Custom House Maritime Museum in New London, CT. Note the whale vertebra and scrimshawed sperm whale teeth in the background.
April 27, 2024: I was honored to have Captain Benjamin Armstrong, Deputy Dean of Humanities and Social Sciences at the U.S. Naval Academy, as the moderator for my presentation.
May 7, 2024: Author Talk & Book Signing at Mystic Seaport Museum, Mystic, CT. It was a real treat to return to the Seaport for this event after having spent so much time there doing the research for Course Change.
January 7, 2025: Author Talk & Book Signing at the Public Library of New London, CT. This city was the home port of the whaleship Stonington.
